3 Renault F1 Team
Palle is a great fan of Formula One racing and have always loved when Renault participated as they have done at different occasions since 1977, when they introduced the Turbo era.
3.1 Renault F1 Team 2008
The first half of the 2008 season wasn't the best we have seen from the Renault F1 team but during the second half especially Fernando Alonso showed that the R28 i svery competitive and he actually won two races and got a second place in the last race. So actually he was the highest scoring driver in the last 8 races. It seems that the team have at last found solved the problems that have kept the R28 from being in the front.
Unfortunately this season again was without the possible to develop on the engine one of Renault strong elements, but FIA has decided that F1 shall be more like the minor series where everything is standard and no development are allowed and this is really a pitty as F1 is all about getting the top of the pop and therefore they must be allowed to develop within certain frames. Even worse FIA and the old mad Max Mosley is talking about using a standard engine which will be the dead of formula 1. Mosley most realize that formula one will never be like it was when he was young where two young guys could run a formula one team in a garage in Milton Keynes. This is a multi million dollar business and the companies that are involved wants to pay because they can show what they can do as engine and car manufactorer.
Nelson Piquet did not too well as rookie, he had to many DNF's and finished as 12th in the overall standing with only 19 points.Fernando Alonso finished fifth with 61 points (43 of those scored in the last 6 races).
The Renault F1 team ended up as fourth in the constructors championship with 80 point which was too less.

3.2 Renault F1 Team 2007
The 2007 season wasn't the best we have seen from the Renault F1 team and there have been several reasons like the drivers line-up and the performance of the R27 which showed a quite new setup for the mirrors but that wasn't the magic silver bullet. Unfortunately it wasn't possible to develop on the engine one of Renault strong elements, but FIA has decided that F1 shall be more like the minor series where everything is standard and no development are allowed and this is really a pitty as F1 is all about getting the top of the pop and therefore they must be allowed to develop within certain frames.
Heikki Kovalainen did a very good job as rookie and finished as 7th in the overall standing with 30 points which is 9 more than Fisichella got. Kovalainen managed to finish all but the very last race, which was a very good performance.
The Renault F1 team ended up as third in the constructors championship with 51 point which was fare too less.
3.3 Renault F1 Team 2006
The new 2006 contender (R26) seems to be a very strong evolution and with the all new V8 engine, the RS26 will bring Renault on a very competitive level and making the defence of their two World Champion titles possible.
The R26 will again be driven by World Champion Fernando Alonso and Giancarlo Fisichella, with the finn Heikki Kovalainen as test driver.
This year Renault finished all but 4 races, two for Alonso and 2 for Fisichella. Alonso scored 7 wins and 7 second place finishes and Fisichella taking 1 win and 4 third places.

3.4 Renault F1 Team 2005
The new 2005 contender (R25) seems to be a very strong one, with the another evolution of the 72 degree V10 engine, the RS25 will bring Renault on a very competitive level regarding horsepowers.
The R25 will be driven by Fernando Alonso and Giancarlo Fisichella, with Frank Montagny as test driver.

4. Safari trip to Kenya
In 2005 our summer holiday was spend as a Safari trip to Kenya together with our friends Jens and Lis.
We left Copenhagen on Wednesday 14sep2005 and came back 26sep2005 after 10 very intensive days in the National parks of Kenya.
We were in Amboseli, Masai Mara, Samburu, at Mount Kenya and a short visit to Lake Nakuru.

5. Miscellaneous information and links
5.1 Students
This autumn we have a new student living at our house. Dagmara is coming from Poland and have been here since late augsut and will stay until christmas.
During the autumns of 1999, 2000 and 2005 we also had students living at our house. These students have been doing one semester of studying on DIS in Copenhagen. Here you can see some pictures of them.
5.2 Palle turned 40

The very first birthday present he got was a trip in a pistemaskine given be Hans & Ingalill during the skiing vacation.

5.4 Christa turned 40
In september 2004 Christa turned 40 years old and she had a big celebration on her birthday with breakfast and later during the day many of our friends and family members showed up to dinner. On the following saturday a birthday party where held at Herlev Kro.
